... a collection and record of both visual and written ideas.
Drawing is the best way to experiment without any consequences. I often wonder, if a sound had a texture, what would it look like? What color would it be and what is its' shape? All of these connections move through porous filters and melt together as one.
Separations and connections - I believe there is a sheer veil that connects all living things, and a thin line that separates this life from the next. Be present with the day you are given. No one know their last day, their last moment, their last opportunity to reach our, to connect, to share.
And the question is, are we destroying or building? Making marks to build shapes, but remembering that destruction is often imperative to growth.
Each line and mark flows naturally into the next. Fluidity takes practice. It's like learning new letters, than words, than sentences, than more creative expressions of speech. Balancing lines and marks are expressions, and move the way I feel they need to move.
One of the most powerful ways to invite change is by questioning - ourselves, others, the institutions. Nothing should be taken at face value and no one should judge your creative expression. Observe, question, investigate and remember it's okay to disagree. You are not a robot.
Love what you love. Be annoyingly passionate about what you love and who you love - playing around with delicate lines, delicate tools; creating shapes and delicate thoughts - this practice with paint requiring complete uninterrupted attention.
